This morning we tried our hand at Thai cooking. We started off our cooking class by going to a local market. The local market reminded me a lot of a traditional farmers market except for here I had no idea what all the crazy vegetables and fruits were. I was also a little weirded out by some of the meats just sitting out in the sun unrefrigerated!
After the market we returned to the cooking school to learn how to work with all these foreign ingredients. It is amazing how far a little chili pepper will go in terms of spice. We prepared a curried chicken, a boiled sea bass dish and also a fantastic soup. We are hoping that the local Asian markets have the ingredients so we can replicate these dishes at home.
