Today you walked! We did a little hike at a place called ‘Pura Vida’; we saw waterfalls and beautiful gardens. You enjoyed looking at the pretty flowers, and you also watched a butterfly for many minutes. We saw toucans also, though I don’t think you saw them. It was very hot, and towards the end of the hike you grew justifiably hot and antsy from being in the Baby Bjorn carrier. Before we loaded you in the carseat for the relatively long drive back to the hotel I suggested to your dad that we let you crawl around and stretch out your legs.
There was a clearing dotted with palm trees and covered in grass, the perfect spot for a rest and mini-picnic. We sat there and took in the pretty views. You kept standing and trying to walk, but you’d fall after just a step or two. And then you didn’t! You made it a few steps, than fell. Then you did it again and again. We were lucky to get it on camera. It’s amazing; you came to Costa Rica as a crawler and you’re leaving as a walker. So fun!
